Owain is a geologist with over 24 years of experience in energy resources, having led significant exploration and development projects across Africa, Russia, Central America, and the Middle East.
He has held senior leadership positions with Qatar Energies and Glencore International (FTSE 100), and brings a wealth of detailed knowledge and experience in identifying, creating and maturing valuable resource portfolio’s.

Yessine Boubaker
Senior Geophysicist
Yessine has experience in seismic reservoir monitoring, through his involvement in the full lifecycle of 4D seismic projects.
He has conducted innovative research projects on light and smart seismic monitoring solutions. Yessine is familiar with the start-up and innovation ecosystems, which led him to new energy sectors, including natural hydrogen.

Mike Powney
Geoscience Advisor
Mike has an extensive experience in seismic interpretation and geological analysis, with application to the exploration and production development.
He has been involved in sustainable energy technologies, particularly natural hydrogen, wind, solar and CCUS. Mike is bringing geological knowledge of West Africa, South America and the North Sea basins.

Richard Heath
Co-founder
Richard is a Chartered Geologist with over 30 years post-graduate experience.
He has been involved in the management / coordination of international oil & gas exploration and development projects and gained extensive experience in multi-disciplinary scientific programmes relating to deep geological radioactive waste disposal.

Jean-Philippe Rossi
Co-founder
Jean-Philippe has 30 years of experience in geophysical data acquisition, projects and contracts management.
Furthermore, he has led the promotion and implementation of data management systems for various governments and companies.
During his career, he has been based in countries across Europe, Latin America and Africa.

Ian Hutchinson
Senior Geoscience Advisor
Ian Hutchinson is a structural geologist with experience in the minerals and oil & gas sectors.
He has global project exposure with focus on geodynamics and basin development in the international oil and gas sector.
He has experience with New Ventures and Project Origination for minerals industry including scouting new opportunities for Anglo American.

Andrea Gibson
Non-Executive
Andrea brings over 15 years of experience in management, finance, strategy, and business development in diverse industries, including the energy sector.
She imparts finance, legal, and HR support, and shapes the corporate strategy and implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives.
Andrea was appointed to the H2Au board in 2022.

John Anthony Copelyn
Non-Executive
John is the CEO of HCI (since 1997). Prior to this, he was a member of Parliament and general secretary of the Southern African Clothing and Textile Workers’ Union.
He is the chairperson of the HCI subsidiary companies Deneb Investments Limited, eMedia Holdings Limited, Montauk Renewables, Impact Oil and Gas, Tsogo Sun Limited and associate company Southern Sun Limited.
John was appointed to the H2Au board in 2024.

Rob Nicolella
Non-Executive
Rob is a chartered accountant with a leadership and development education at Harvard University. He brings 14 years of experience in the banking and investment sectors.
He is currently the financial director at the HCI Group and a director on the boards of Southern Sun Limited and Frontier Transport Holdings Limited.
Rob was appointed to the H2Au board in 2024.
